Diwali Milan and Fundraising Dinner

Arya Samaj Mississauga held their annual Diwali Milan and fundraising dinner on Friday, October 23rd at Sagan Banquet Hall in Mississauga. The event was attended by more than 400 prominent community members along with their family and friends.

The program started with recitation of a Vedic prayer by past president, C. P. Gupta. The president, Satish Kumar, welcomed everyone to the fundraiser.

Lighting of diyas was performed by chief guest for the evening, Dr Gagan Bhalla and his wife, Uma Bhalla, followed by others, including past presidents, board members of the Arya Samaj.  

Notable Mississauga orthodontist Dr. Gagan Bhalla was the chief guest. He is well-known in the community for organizing Swami Ramdevji's yoga camps and promoting health and wellness to the Community at large by Yoga, Meditation and Pranayam. In his speech, he enlightened the audience about the role of Arya Samaj in the socio-economic and educational fields.

The show commenced with Ganesh Vandana, followed by classical dances by Disha Dance Academy and Neeti Group. Alongside, Sunny, the rock star, performed Bollywood songs that entertained the full house.

For their dedication, commitment and selfless service, Dr Ravi Srivastava along with C. P Gupta recognized by presenting them with a shawl and plaque:

- Subhash Jhamb, president of Arya Samaj Mississauga for five years, from 2010 to 2014, presently a board member of the executive committee, and
- Yash Maingi, Honorary auditor of Arya Samaj Mississauga and has been auditing our accounts for many years. 

Funds were raised through donations and 50/50 raffle draw. Everyone enjoyed the vegetarian feast along with foot-tapping music, and danced the night away. The vote of thanks was delivered by the vice president, Amar Batish, who thanked all the members for their continued service towards Arya Samaj.

The MCs for the evening were Ranvir Sardana and Bharti Sagar

Arya Samaj Mississauga holds weekly satsang at 11:00 am every Sunday, at 405 Watline Avenue, Mississauga. The organization also provides priest services for sanskaars and family celebrations.
