One of the most iconic shows in Canada turned 20 this year and celebrated with style! The 20th annual Suhaag Show showcased the latest in wedding fashion, decor, make-up and hair, photography and video, cakes and many other services required for a perfect wedding. A popular event in the South Asian community, the show saw record attendance with brides and grooms-to be mingling with over 150 prominent vendors in the GTA.  The event was sponsored by Absolute Wedsite, Dr. Neil Gajjar Dentistry, South Asian Focus newspaper, Weekly Voice, PTC, B4U, and Metroland Media Group.

Two slick fashion shows were the highlight of the event where the GTA’s Top 14 fashion boutiques displayed uniquely created for the wedding season this year.

With their latest collections in bridal and party wear, leading fashion houses were wooing throngs of young brides and grooms. The fashions show also captured the intrigue of many parents, siblings and extended families; who accompanied the young couples to the show. People came in full force when doors opened at 11 am at the Toronto Congress Centre after being treated to champagne mocktails and live music as they entered. Reigning Miss India Canada, Tanpreet Parmar flew down from Vancouver to host the show.

Stunning decor displays from Karma Design Studio, Dream Party Décor, Absolute Event Planning & Décor; SSDN Noble Creations, Hidden Treasures, DT Floral & Décor, Soulmate Weddings, Starzz Design& Décor, and The Wedding House, to name a few brought novel concepts and added an element of drama to the event.

The leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party, Andrea Horwath accompanied by Deputy Leader, Jagmeet Singh made an appearance at the show to acknowledge the Suhaag team’s two decades of success and presented them with a certificate on stage.

Organizer Sanjay Agnihotri said, for most couples, the motto is "the bigger the better."

"The glamour quotient has risen tenfold," he said. "People will see huge decor sets that fall as backdrops during receptions. It's almost movie set-like."

The first 300 brides received a complimentary gift from Vasanti Cosmetics. And if that was not enough, SUHAAG unveiled the glamorous 2017 annual edition of SUHAAG magazine- that many call the wedding bible for young couples planning a South Asian themed event. The magazine featured content that appeals to a wide range of individuals including newly engaged couples, their families and friends. The magazine will be available in early March at Chapters and Indigo bookstores across the country.
