Esteemed Mississauga orthodontist, Dr. Gagan Bhalla has been recognized and awarded the title of Fellows in two prestigious International Organizations, The International College of Dentists (ICD) and The Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA) during their respective Annual Meeting and Convocation in Saint Johns, New Found land on August 28, 2015.

This accomplishment is awarded to nominees by invitation only, who are truly outstanding and epitomize excellence. Only 3.5% of dentists in the country are granted Fellowships into these Colleges. A nominated dentist must pass a rigorous peer review process and those selected are invited for fellowship.

Fellowship is an honor bestowed upon those dentists who have been recognized as having “outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry and community for the benefit of humankind.”

“I am extremely honored and excited to have been chosen as Fellows for these two great organizations and offer my gratitude to those who have served dentistry in the past and have maintained the profession’s integrity. I look forward to actively participating in these organizations and learning from my new peers in the ICD and PFA,” states Dr. Bhalla

The International College of Dentists is globally the oldest and largest international honorary dental organization. Over the years it has played a crucial role in shaping the dental profession, it strives to be the ideal example of ethics and professionalism in dentistry, and works hard to improve the ethical climate of dentistry. The core values of ICD are Integrity, Leadership and Service and recognized by its peers as the “conscience of dentistry”.

The Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA), founded in 1936 and is named after the "Father of Modern Dentistry, (France 1678-1761), it is an honorary dental service organization of past accomplishments and encouragement for a productive future.

Fellowship in the PFA is very selective; it is based on nominations and is extended to fewer than 4% internationally. It is by invitation only and bestowed on dentists known for their ethical standards who are professional leaders and are recognized by their distinguished work, research & contributions to dentistry or to society.

The mission of Fellows of PFA is to consistently focus on professionalism, integrity and ethics worldwide by their own conduct as worthy role models and by the advancement of dentistry to the highest level.
